Requires the Configuration area permission. If you don't see this button, ask an administrator with Invite and manage users.

Question types

Choose which question types the exam import template lists.

Open Configuration. The first section is Question types.
Check or clear Enabled beside a type. The change saves immediately.

The type names match the labels writers see, including Multiple choice (single), True / False, Short answer, Matching, Essay, and Computational. Download Excel template lists the types that have Enabled checked. If every type is cleared, the template lists the selectable types anyway.

Clearing Enabled does not remove a type from the exam wizard or from Exam management. Those type lists stay the same.

If a type is missing from the import template

Turn Enabled on for that type, then download the template again.
