Edit an item and its settings

Change stem, answers, and rationale on the assignment row. The button label is Edit.

Opening the exam requires Create and edit exams, Assign questions to writers, Compile and export exams, or Reports and dashboards.

1. On Exam management, expand the question and select Edit.
2. Change Item name, Stem, the answer, Rationale, and Reference.
3. Leave the row when the status reads Saved. Select Submit to submit, or Cancel to leave without that submit.

Edit is available when you have Edit item content in review. Edit item content in review does not open the exam by itself. Exam management then accepts Create and edit exams, Assign questions to writers, or View review queue. While you stay on the row, the button reads Cancel edit. Autosave does not leave edit mode. Item settings holds Resources, Item configuration, and Item duration.

If Edit is unavailable

Items in Beta testing and Live bank are locked. Change the status before you edit. Status history shows the name of the person who moved or edited the item.
