Set up domains and references

Add domains, sub-domains, and the references writers must cite.

Opening the exam requires Create and edit exams, Assign questions to writers, Compile and export exams, or Reports and dashboards.

1. Open the exam and select Setup.
2. Select Add domain, enter the name under New domain, then select Save domain.
3. Select Add sub-domain, choose the parent domain, enter the sub-domain name, then select Save sub-domain.
4. Under References, select Add reference, enter the citation, then select Save reference.

Setup opens when you have Create and edit exams or Assign questions to writers. Saving a domain, sub-domain, reference, exam name, or Active status requires Create and edit exams. Default distractors on this page is the default for new multiple-choice slots. References on this page are the list writers choose from. A writer selects an approved reference or Other: enter citation below before submit.

If you need to rename the exam

Rename and Active or Inactive are edited on Setup. Other exam tabs show the name and status without those controls.
