Activate or delete an exam

Mark an exam inactive to hide it from writers, or delete it permanently.

Opening the exam requires Create and edit exams, Assign questions to writers, Compile and export exams, or Reports and dashboards.

1. Open the exam and select Setup.
2. Change the status to Active or Inactive, then save.

Saving Active or Inactive, and Delete exam, require Create and edit exams. Inactive exams stay on Exams under Inactive exams. Writers do not see them. You can still manage structure and assignments.

If you need to delete the exam

Select the delete control on the exam header or on the exam card. The dialog title is Delete exam? Confirm with Delete exam. This removes the exam and its domains, questions, assignments, and submitted items. The delete control is not shown on Live review.
